No Joost with proxy

Joost doesn't work if you are connected to the net through a proxy, which I think sucks big time. In addition to that you need to configure your firewall correctly to make it work.

I think this is a big no go for internet users, which can't tune their firewall or proxy settings. I also believe that Joost doesn't support proxies due to technical limitations, but due to content restriction based on user's location.

Exactly. It's absolutely ridiculous. I don't think it'll ever be ready for use by the general public (release a 1.0) until it does away with such silly things as limiting proxy servers and firewalls. It's just incredibly not worth it at this point. And considering both legal and illegal streaming video on various websites doesn't require: installation of software you'll never use with another program, firewall management, or inhibit the use of a proxy server, I don't think at this rate Joost has any chance of really becoming popular.
